WHAT IS STUDENT SERVE TEAM?
Our heart and vision behind Student Leadership is for students to be poured into more intentionally and to equip students to grow and develop more in their leadership abilities. We want to create a creative space where students can help come along side us to plan, strategize and lead ASCEND student ministry!
WHO CAN JOIN?
Students 6th - 12th grade + Anyone with influence can be a leader, this means that you do not have to be a graduated and wait for adult leadership to be a Leader…You can start leading now and all of you already are! (Whether that’s for worship team, media team, social media…)
This is an opportunity for you to serve beyond just showing up on a Wednesday night or beyond what you already do for worship/media team. You will actually be integrated into our leader assignments on Wednesday nights where you will be assigned pre/post service positions. You will help serve for any upcoming Ascend events that require help and any projects that we will have throughout the year. You will also be in the loop about all upcoming events and helping us with ideas + giving any feedback on what’s already happening at Ascend.
Good leadership starts with servanthood…this is a main reason why you are called Student SERVE team and not Student LEADERSHIP team. We do not want anyone who joins to use this as an opportunity to think that they are better or higher than anyone else but instead we want everyone to have the mindset that they are here to serve others and serve them WELL while always having a good attitude.
SERVE TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
Our Serve Team Expectations are rooted in our core values of our church:
1. Honor: We honor our Pastors/Leadership/church by the way we carry ourselves and the way we speak. We are the first to respond and never the last. We are always seeking out opportunities to serve others.
2. Humility: We seek to serve one another in love, without expecting any recognition, approval, or reward. We do not treat ourselves as higher or better than anyone.
3. Hunger: Our passion to serve others is driven by our passion for Jesus. We should always be prioritizing seeking him daily which sparks a longing to do more for Him.
4. Holiness: We seek to become more like Jesus every day. We recognize we are in a position of visibility and leadership which requires us to live lives above reproach and with integrity.
5. Health: We recognize the importance of maintaining our spiritual health and that in order to be spiritually healthy, we have to implement all of these values into our life and live according to them.

- Weekly Meeting (Wednesday at 4pm till after service)
- Serve on Wednesday nights (6pm -9pm)
