Burdens & Baggage
Have you ever carried something or moved something really heavy and then realized that you didn’t need to carry or move it? The enemy’s greatest trick is to get you to believe that the weight you carry is yours to bear alone.
The enemy’s strategy is simple… make you carry what God has already taken.
Some of our potential baggage includes family, schedules, friends, trust issues, depression, loneliness, failure, fear, social media, money for the future, health, negativity, anxiety, worry, comparison, identity.....
3 Things We Need to do to deal with our baggage (found in Matthew 11:28-30):
1. MOVE - from where you are to where Jesus is; requires humility
2. RECEIVE - this requires you to put down what you have to have an open hand. Satan knows that if he can get you to carry stuff, you’ll forget the strength that comes from trusting in God.
3. ALLOW - let Jesus teach you. The weaker ox is taught by the stronger ox when they’re yoked together.
Holding on is believing that there’s only a past. Letting go is knowing that there’s a future.
The Jesus in you is stronger and greater than anything else in the world.
