You Will Be Pressured
Pressure is a part of life—whether from school, relationships, or the future. We all face pressure
Pressure doesn’t have to break us—it can refine us.
1. We are PRESSED in every way.
- You may feel it from: peer expectations, family, grades, major life decisions, the unknowns of the future
- The internal pressures sometimes weigh heavier than the external pressures.
- Even Jesus faced pressure (Hebrews 4:15), yet He did not sin. When we lean on Him, we can withstand the pressures of the world.
2. We are PRESSED but NOT ALONE.
- "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." — Proverbs 27:17
- The right people strengthen us, not weaken us.
- Surround yourself with friends and mentors who point you toward truth. The people in your life shouldn’t tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear.
3. We are PRESSED to be PURE.
- Like an olive press produces oil, God anoints, heals, and purifies us when we bring our struggles to Him. Pressure can: grow our faith (James 1:2-4), take us out of our comfort zones, break old mindsets and habits
- To handle pressure well, we must: build faith through prayer and the Word, choose godly friends, say no to destructive habits, step out of comfort zones by following the Holy Spirit.
Good pressures refine you and takes the oil out of you. If you’re growing, you will always be out of your comfort zone...
