Make the Sound Drown out the Noise
A Word from the Lord - “Before My death, there was noise. The noise of Judas' betrayal, the noise of Peter's denial. The noise of mockers, religious leaders, and Jews walking in offense and a lack of truth. The noise of lots being cast, mourning families, sour wine dripping. But then it all changed. Suddenly that noise was erased with a HOLY and MIGHTY sound! The sound of Me calling out to My father, the sound of My last breath leaving My body. The sound of the veil tearing, allowing for My sheep to enter into the Holy Place through Me. The sound of the ground shaking and tombs being opened. Noise tried to creep back in - the noise of bones breaking and people walking the earth still blind. But My Father was not done. The sound of My blood and My water came. My blood - cleansing and purifying My sheep and those who walk in truth. My water - glowing life into each and every one who walks cleansed in My blood and living truth. The sound of the tomb being opened, and My angels saying "Why are you looking for the living One among the dead?" Walk in the clean, purifying, life-giving sound that comes from walking in Me. Do not let the noise disrupt and distract you from the sound I have given you and the sound I am preparing for you.”
So how do you carry the sound outside of City Week? Simple - ALWAYS remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for each and every one of us. That means when you mess up, don’t discount the sacrifice He made and run into His arms. That means when you’re at school, at home, out at the store, remember that Jesus died for every person there too - and now you have a call to spread His gospel. The enemy will try to distract and tempt you back into how you used to be with the noise of the world. The old music, the old way of talking and thinking - the old you. But don’t forget that you walk with a God that erases noise for a mighty sound, a God that has called you into so much more, a God that has given you the authority to tell the enemy “QUIET! The noise of the world cannot compare to the Holy and Mighty sound of my God.” Now it won’t be easy, but if you can keep your focus on God and have the wise and godly people in your life keep you accountable, then it can be simple to carry the sound even though you’re not at City Week anymore. Let’s make “City Week” a mindset more than a place.
